🌟 Portrait of the Week: Marie Curie (1867–1934)

"Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."

This week, as part of Women’s History Month 2026, we honor a woman who changed the face of science and medicine forever.

🔬 Why she is a Legend:

·         The First of Many: She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, and she remains the only person to win Nobel Prizes in two different scientific fields (Physics and Chemistry).

·         A Medical Pioneer: During WWI, she developed mobile radiography units ("Little Curies") to help battlefield surgeons treat wounded soldiers.

·         Fighting Cancer: Her discovery of Radium and Polonium paved the way for radiotherapy, a cornerstone in the fight against cancer today—a cause we hold dear at Ronning Against Cancer.

📚 Education is Power:

Marie Curie’s journey reminds us that education and persistence can break any barrier. At Super Professeur, we celebrate her legacy by making knowledge accessible to everyone, everywhere.
